Tell us about this mix:

I sort through many releases and pick out whatever I like best within a week or two week span. I find its easiest to capture moods and feelings in the moment this way. I've been in the midst of moving and not sleeping, so these are the sounds that sounded best to me right now.

When did you start DJing?

I suppose I started Djing in my bedroom when I was 16. Back then I wasn't aware I could mix together the dance music I was listening to. I was solely focused on learning to scratch, playing underground hip hop, and looking for breaks in my parents disco records

First gig:

My first outside gig was at a restaurant on Graham ave. & Grand ave in Williamsburg. I think it was for a spoken word/performance event. I remember Sam Sparro's Black & Gold had just been released and I played it, then people asked me about it. It was a good feeling to share the music.

Favorite party ever played:

I really don't know, the DW Chromat event at Le Bain was really good, All the Ladyfag parties have been banging same for all the parties thrown in Mood Ring.

Fave DJ:

Traxx from Chicago is probably my favorite DJ...or DJ Bone...maybe it's both and more

Fave producer:

Pretty impossible to pick. If I had to pick one, Larry Heard is high on the list.

Pet peeve when DJing:

Honestly, having more than 2 people around me while djing is very difficult, It's not good for my anxiety.

What’s the best compliment you’ve ever gotten?

All compliments are the best, i'm very happy when people tell me they've liked what I played

Place you’d like to play:

I'd like to play outside of New York. on a real beach would be cool.

Something you want everyone to know about you:

While Djing I tend to look as if I watched my cat (I don't have a cat) get hit by a car the same day of the gig but my face betrays my inner emotions. 9 times out of 10 i'm having a lot of fun while Djing.
