Cali Rose moved to NYC scene from the bay area relatively recently but has injected a much welcomed and refreshing energy to the scene. She hosts Jasmine Infiniti’s New World Dysorder party at Bossa Nova for one of the clubs most popular parties. Cali and the community she fosters pushes forward an unpretentious space for techno music, her sets cut through the gatekeepers and make for the funnest dance floors.

I wanted the mix to have variety and include many genres that aren’t just techno.
When did you start DJing?
I started djing around 3 years ago.
First gig:
My first gig was at one of our own New World Dysorder parties in Oakland, CA!
Favorite party ever played:
I definitely had a blast playing in the woods for the Honcho music festival!

I don’t have a favorite but I love shyboi, katie rex, neve1, femanyst, juliana huxtable, and the list goes on!!!
Fave producer:
I love Lsdxoxo and Jasmine Infiniti!
Pet peeve when DJing:
I hate when people try to have a conversation when I’m working haha
What’s the best compliment you’ve ever gotten?
I love when people talk about the specific sound I give, which is described as a feminine but hard techno!
Place you’d like to play:
I would love to play in London, Tokyo, and at Berghain!

I hope to play in more places in the upcoming months! I will also be releasing my own tracks as soon as I master producing!
